Arashi Shabu-Shabu Hotpot Restaurant in KSL City, Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Arashi Shabu-Shabu is a modern hotpot restaurant in Malaysia. Boasting a chic and stylish interior coupled with plush couch and large tables, the restaurant exudes an air of mystic and grandiose.

For hotpot, Arashi offers a total of 10 soup base such as the signature Arashi Hot & Spicy Milk, Arashi Spicy Sichuan, Arashi Kombu and Arashi Kimuchi. Diners can order either from the various shabu sets that come with a range of ingredients, or ala carte.

Besides hotpot, there are options like Teppanyaki and Bibimbap to feed your hungry tummy too.

In shabu-shabu, you can’t do away without meats. There is a great selection which consists of Premium Black Pork, Pork Cheek, Pork Shoulder, Pork Belly, Boneless Ribeye, NZ Beef, Chicken and Lamb.

Seafood lovers can also order scallops, fishes and prawns for the hotpot.

I had the Premium Black Pork Shabu Set RM 36.90 which comprised of a hotpot soup (Spicy Sichuan, add on RM 2.90) of my choice, one portion of sliced black pork and a bowl brimming with ingredients like vegetables, mushrooms, seafood balls and crab sticks.

Note that for the Premium Black Pork, only ala carte orders of RM 24.90 (M) and RM 47.90 (L) will have the pork slices served draped over a stand with dry ice effect. The presentation was jaw-dropping amazing.

Taste-wise, the black pork did not disappoint. Each slice was tender, almost melt-in-the-mouth.

Simply dip the pork in boiling soup for a few seconds and it is ready for consumption.

Besides the pork and beef, other shabu sets include Salted Crispy Salmon Fish Head, Salmon Fish and Cod Belly. 

Diners can help themselves to the sauces located in one area of the restaurant too. 

Overall, it was a satisfying meal at Arashi Shabu-Shabu. Besides the cordial service, the shabu set was also value-for-money in terms of quality and quantity. I would definitely recommend this and return again!
