Arbora Hilltop Restaurant at Faber Peak to get Boozy, Cozy & Romantic
Arbora, meaning trees in Latin, is One Faber Group‘s newest restaurant concept replacing Spuds & Aprons.
Launched on 12 October 2018, Arbora was welcomed by a strong crowd at the peak of Mount Faber Park alongside boozes and a sneak peak at the recommended dishes from the menu.
Boasting an all-day dining menu helmed by Executive Chef Kenny Yeo, the 35 dishes range from light snacks perfect with craft beers to salads, mains, pastas and desserts. Sharing platters are available too, catering to larger parties looking to chill while away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The drinks menu shines as brightly as the moonlight ahead with fresh green-pressed juices, ice cream-based shakes and floats, craft beers, botanically inspired cocktails that could be ordered by the jug, and a full list of wines and shots.
There was a live band with amazing vocals from the singers during the launch event.
Activities livened up the area with the makings of our own edible gardens and flower-pressed bookmarks.
There was a Roku Gin station where the highlight of the day was the Botanic Zest ($15 per glass), an aromatic soothing drink that blossomed in my throat. Made from a combination of Roku Gin, Honey, Fresh Young Ginger, Juniper Berry and Tonic, this was a sight to behold and a taste to remember.
We had several canapes – sampling sizes from the ala carte dishes.
The Wild Mushroom Salad was memorable with juicy chopped mushrooms in balsamic reduction.
It is priced at $14 with assorted mushrooms like the porcini, black button and portobello while topped with garden salad leaves.
One of the most popular items was the Smoked Duck Mushroom Ragout which everyone seemed to be queueing for. The thick chewy spaghetti in creamy sauce wouldn’t make you feel overwhelming whereas the little bits of duck skins, mushrooms, and spinach stirred within coloured this dish with more flavours.
At $22, this is served as a mains and surely worth the buck for the plate of tasty goodness.
Other items include the crunchy Garlic Tiger Prawns ($18 for actual portion), tender Braised Beef Cheeks ($36 for mains) and Rack of Lamb ($36 for mains) that needed some jaw work.
The Crispy Chicken Wings ($17 for 8 pieces) was lip-smacking good, especially when eaten hot. Even the Chilli Crab Nachos $10 was addictive with the heaps of spicy sauce loaded over a stack of chips.
The Tomahawk Pork Rib ($65 for 600g) made an appearance, featuring its massive figure with surprisingly tender meats and fats that melted in my mouth.
The view was breath-taking as well since Faber Peak is perched 100 meters above sea level!
To get to Arbora, you can either get a cable car ride up from Harbourfront Tower or take a 15-min drive from the city center.
