Ban Leong Wah Hoe Seafood Restaurant – Chilli Crab & Wok Hei Dishes
Ban Leong Wah Hoe Seafood Restaurant – this yummy Zi Char place has been around as long as my memory serves. Since it is also near my house, my parents used to bring me here for the chilli crabs and mantou when I was younger.
Dishes have been consistent so far. We savoured three types of crabs – Chilli Crab, Black Pepper Crab and Butter Crab. The chilli crab sauce was thick with mild spiciness. Best for dipping your mantous in!
One of the highlight was this Butter Crab filled with the fragrance of butter and crispy bits on the side. I was swept by the buttery taste of the flesh which wasn’t too overwhelming as well.
Garlic Clams were delicious especially the broth which was sweet with the taste of clams.
The Hot Plate Toufu was an eye-opener. It was served on a sizzling pan which made the egg omelette swelled, before it was mixed in with the minced meats!
Something unique was this Assam Sting Ray. The sauce was rich and thick, slightly spicy and coated the tender sting rays meat beautifully.
You don’t have to eat this for birthdays, but the Fried Mee Suah would satisfy your craving for some wok-hei Zi Char!
