Bodol Miyeok 보돌미역, Seoul – Clam Seaweed Soup with Abalone in Jongno Tower

Bodol Miyeok 보돌미역 is a seaweed soup specialty restaurant in an office building, Jongno Tower. The restaurant is known for its seaweed soup with assorted ingredients.

Think Seaweed Soup with Plaice (fish) KRW 14000, Clam KRW 14000, Beef KRW 16000 and Beef Galbi 19000. At an extra KRW 5000, you can get two whole abalones in the soup.

There are sharing plates such as Grilled Pork Bulgogi KRW 13000, Braised Half Dried Pollack KRW 14000 and Steamed Abalone KRW 53000, as well as set menus for bigger groups.

The banchan consists of fermented squid, kimchi, braised black beans and salad.

I had the Clam Seaweed Soup with Abalone KRW 19000.

The soup is flavourful and filled with smooth seaweed and clam. The clams are all chopped up though I wish they come in actual pieces.

The abalone tastes alright and is firm with a chew.

Eating seaweed soup also seems to give many health benefits.

Overall, it is a hearty and satisfactory meal, which I would return for.
