Botanist Singapore: Instagrammable Cafe Serving All-Day Brunch at Neil Road, By The Pacamara Team
Botanist is a quaint cafe with charming white walls and draping greeneries. With the entrance facing an alley instead of the main road, it took me a while to discover it. Even the alley is great for OOTDs with the art murals all over.
The cafe serves all-day brunch food and has no GST and service charge too. Their coffee is also roasted in-house by Knockhouse Supply Co.
If you haven’t heard of it, Botanist is managed by the same folks behind Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters (another great place for brunch) and Alchemist.
The menu has a full-page dining option ranging from salads, carbs and eggs dishes to heavier items like pasta and beef. We decided on two mains eventually since there was only two of us.
The Guac Smash ($18) is an avocado-loaded dish with a thick slice of sourdough spread with guacamole. On it, there are also pinenut, feta cheese, tomatoes, diced beetroots and some greens.
Every mouthful was filled with the creaminess of the avocado and cheese, round off with the sweet tomatoes. Served with two poached eggs, the yolk flowed beautifully when poked.
A glorious mess indeed.
Another very instagram-worthy dish was the Croque Madame ($18), layered with toasted brioche, ham, gruyere cheese and topped with a fried egg. The moist texture of the brioche contrasted with the crispiness at the edges had me sold.
Together with the savouriness of the ham and cheese, it was a very flavourful dish.
A return visit is inevitable to try their signature French Toast ($18) that was sold out on that day. We also spotted another table having Truffle Fries ($8) which smelt really good.
Botanist is a rather promising place with nice food and environment. No wonder the crowd is never thinning even as we dine till 3PM on a weekday.
