Burger & Lobster Singapore $40 Lobster Roll & exclusive Sambal Lobster at Jewel Changi Airport
My first encounter with Burger & Lobster was at Resorts World Genting last year April. I arrived late one night and the restaurant was brimming with eager diners for a taste of the huge lobsters. The atmosphere bustled with chatter and I was seated between tables where I could see multiple orders of the Chilli Lobster. It’s that kind of night when you should be clinking wine glasses and slipping lobster meats into their sauces.
When news came that Burger & Lobster is coming to Singapore, I was thrilled. The crustacean lover in me simply can’t give this a miss. After its door had finally opened at the beautiful Jewel Changi Airport, queues formed. Our wait was, fortunately, only 15 minutes on a Saturday afternoon at 3:30PM. The rest of the Singaporeans were probably at Shake Shack or A&W.
It appears more tranquil at this Burger & Lobster outlet where table space allows privacy. The restaurant features a two-storey seating capacity and if you are lucky to snag a seat at the top floor, you might have a spectacular view of the waterfall.
The menu is straightforward as such. We aimed for the signatures, the Original Lobster $65 and Original Roll $40. There is also the Jewel exclusive steamed Sambal Glazed Lobster $65 and the Original Combo $110 fit for two diners.
Three types of burgers are available on the menu, including The Impossible $20 burger too.
Menu
We started with the Original Roll $40 where the toasted buttery brioche was generously stuffed with chilled, shredded lobster meats drenched in Japanese mayonnaise. It was incredibly tasty which made the side of lemon and garlic butter sauce redundant. The fries were nicely fried till golden brown whereas the little pot of house salad had a tad too much balsamic dressing on it. Nonetheless, the highlight on this plate definitely wins us over.
I had the grilled Original Lobster $65 plus fries topped up with truffles at an extra $3 (a good choice made). The lobster meat was quite tender with a chew, and I would prefer it with the signature lemon and garlic butter sauce to up the taste.
Don’t forget the pincers too because you could actually dig out a decent amount of meats.
We also tried The Mayfair $25 burger that comes stacked with the grilled Nebraskan beef patty in between melted cheese, homemade pickles, sliced onions, tomato and lettuce.
The fluffy sesame-studded brioche buns were slathered with the signature burger sauce too.
It was a delight to have. Satisfactory enough.
Live humongous lobsters can be found here too.
All in all, I would visit again for their lobster roll, with short queuing time at its best.
