Café de Paris Korean Dessert Cafe Opens at 313 Somerset Singapore

The popular South Korean brand, Café de Paris, is slated to officially open on 22nd October 2017 (to be postponed to end of October) at level one of 313 Somerset. Introducing the one-of-a-kind Fresh Fruits Bon Bon series, these dessert parfaits are bound to win the hearts of many with their photogenic presentation and refreshing taste.

Besides their signature Fresh Fruits Bon Bon, Café de Paris also serves a range of 8 dainty mousse cakes and sliced cakes, alongside various in-house healthy juice blends and the cold brew coffee.

Conveniently located in the heart of the shopping mall, this pleasant-looking cafe is soon to become a pit stop for hungry patrons and tired shoppers to rest their feet.

Some rather delicious mousse cakes which found their ways into our hearts were the Rose and Yuzu Mango. The Rose, especially, was exquisitely tasty with distinct layers of raspberry mousse, lychee gelee and white chocolate creme covered in a pink glaze; all of which complemented one another.

Coming to Café de Paris, you simply can’t leave without having their Fresh Fruit Bon Bon with fruits’ availability depending on the season. Currently, the Mango Bon Bon is on the menu, but expect fruits like Korean Strawberry, Raspberry, Blueberry and Grapes in the coming months!

The Mango Bon Bon features chopped mangoes delicately stacked in a large cup between layers of velvety smooth whipped cream and slushie.

Do you know that on average, two and a half mangoes are added into each cup order? That’s a lot of mangoes!

Some other cakes on retail were the Matcha, Chocolate Raspberry Dome, Earl Grey Lavender, Strawberry Shortcake, Chocochoco and the recommended New York Cheesecake.

If you love cheese, you would adore the intensity and richness of the creamy cheese on a buttery biscuit base.

As for the Matcha cake we had, I like how the strong taste of the matcha flavour was evident within.  It was also dusted with more matcha powder which elevated the taste further. Decent though I would have preferred a moister sponge cake.

The Chocolate Raspberry Dome, on the other hand, was coated in a glistening raspberry glaze with raspberry jelly at its core. The tartness of the raspberry evened out the bitterness of dark chocolate mousse, with neither one overpowering another. Another well-executed dessert.
