Coocaça: Superfood Bowls And Smoothies in Somerset

Coocaça, pronounced as Coo-ka-sa, is perfect in sunny Singapore where you can be kept refreshed and energised with the various superfood bowls and smoothies.

Newly opened on 7th April 2017, Coocaça is situated at 1 Grange Road, beside H&M, directly facing Cathay Cineleisure Orchard. Coocaça is the brainchild of Alexys, who is also the owner of Lucky Bar/ Full of Luck Club at Holland Village.

With the recent opening of kiosks selling poke bowls and acai bowls, surely this is our chance at becoming more health-conscious in the food we are having. Coocaça is no stranger in this, whipping up healthy fruit/vegetables blend with toppings such as fruits, granola, flax seeds, goji berries and chia seeds.

The menu is divided into Bols (smoothie bowls/ superfood bowls) and Batidos (smoothies/ superfood smoothies). There is a total of nine variations to choose from with a choice of additional toppings.

We were recommended the Pura Vida ($12.90) and Singa ($11.90).

Pura Vida ($12.90)

Superfood bowl consisting of Acai, strawberries, blueberries, banana and coconut water, while topped with granola, banana, strawberries, blueberries and chia seeds.

For the price, it is a rather generous portion with a smooth blend of fruits and coconut water. While I had expected it to be more sourish, the combination had balanced out the flavours well such that it was light and refreshing to have. Mixed in the granola and they added an extra crunch to the overall texture.

Singa ($11.90)

Smoothie bowl consisting of  mango, pineapple, banana and coconut water, while topped with granola, strawberries and pumpkin seeds.

With a difference in the base from the Pura Vida (above), the Singa tasted of tropical and sunshine with the pleasing blend of yellow-coloured fruits. For the adventurous ones, you may even try the Palawan ($11.90) which contains spinach, pineapple. banana and soy milk with toppings like Goji berry and coconut flakes! Sounds interesting.

Besides these, Coocaça also offers salads and coffee on the go.

Given the crowd in Orchard, Coocaça is definitely well-situated within the town area. With the outlet’s bold and striking colour scheme, and rising trend to eat healthily, it is bound to attract youngsters and the health-conscious working adults.
