Dim Sum Inc by Crystal Jade at Punggol Oasis Terraces – Affordable Bowls & Piggy Dim Sum

Sometimes, life gets so hectic, we have little choice but to grab and go whatever food we need to get through our busy schedules. But that doesn’t mean we should compromise on taste when it comes to the most important time of the day.

Luckily for proponents of the latter, Crystal Jade has opened a new casual, all-day quick dining concept called Dim Sum Inc,the newest branch located at Punggol Oasis. Designed to provide us all the comforts we have come to know and love the Crystal Jade franchise for, Dim Sum Inc’s menu is relatively compact, but not devoid of home-style specialties including roast meat rice and noodle bowls, and Cantonese-style congee on days when we need that extra taste of comfort.

Prepared a la minute, the Braised Soya Sauce Chicken Noodle Bowl and Crispy Roasted Pork Belly Rice Bowls, were decently portioned and well flavoured. While the crispy roasted pork was my go-to choice, it was the succulent, tender soy sauce chicken meat that eventually won me over when both dishes arrived at our table. Both are served with lava egg, and you can order an add-on of meat for $2.

One thing that’s unique at Dim Sum Inc, is the Assorted Trio Har Kau, which has been given a photo-worthy twist in the form of vibrant pink, orange, or yellow hues. Taste wise, it was pretty much the same deal as what I always enjoy on Sunday lunches at the regular Crystal Jade restaurants.

The Animal Buns were equally adorable, and were available in both pig and chicken designs, with piping hot lotus paste when we bit into the soft, fluffy skin.

End your meal on a sweet note with one of Crystal Jade’s thirst quenching drinks or desserts. The Mango Puree with Pomelo and Sago, whose creamy texture was nicely contrasted by the chewy pomelo and sago comes served in a cute glass bottle. You can also choose to drink it like a smoothie, or savour every spoonful like it’s your last!

A 60-seater space that includes both indoor and alfresco dining areas, Dim Sum Inc is the perfect spot to get your Cantonese fix without the hassle of having to dress up and battle the queues for dim sum at other restaurants.
