Do Qoo by Mr Bean offers pretty dessert cups with chewy Abacus toppings & Blue Pea Jelly at Paya Lebar Quarter

Do Qoo (pronounced as Do-Cool) 豆趣 is a brand new dessert concept launched by Mr Bean at Paya Lebar Quarter. The second outlet is slated to open at Kampung Admiralty in early December this year.

On the menu are choices of dessert cups filled with various QQ toppings such as the must-try abacus, taro jelly and lychee pop. The base uses Mr Bean’s signature soy pudding and grass jelly. Each cup also comes with a tub of smooth soy cream which pairs really well with the jellies.

Besides, each dessert cup is aesthetically presented with the mainstay being the abacus toppings. The colourful abacus toppings are available in three flavours – Taro, Yellow Sweet Potato and Purple Sweet Potato.

You can also customisable your own dessert cup starting at $4.20 each. Each cup comes with your choice of two bases (soy pudding, grass jelly and osmanthus aiyu jelly), signature abacus, and two toppings.

One of Do Qoo’s unique desserts is the Blue Mint Monday, beautifully topped with blue pea jelly, brown sugar Hanten jelly and abacus.

My two personal favourites are the Tea-rrific Earl (with earl grey tea jelly and chewy nata de coco) and Golden Beauty (with osmanthus jelly and citrusy lychee pop) where the latter presents a myriad of flavours and textures.

At $4.20 each for the standard dessert cups, I find that these are quite worth the value for the sizable portion and generous toppings. These desserts prove themselves to be more than just a novelty but a fun snack to have in between meals too!
