Elemen Classic at Great World City – Meatless Restaurant with tasty modern creations

Modern interpretations of meatless dishes using natural and wholesome ingredients come together at Elemen’s newly unveiled dining concept, Elemen Classic. One of the first F&B tenants to take up residence at the recently renovated Great World City, which is still undergoing extensive refurbishing, Elemen Classic presents a curation of its most popular items from past seasons, along with exclusive dishes to this 105-seater outlet.

Reasonably priced items, generous portions, and a modern, floral-themed dining space are reasons to visit Elemen Classic. Take your pick from the ala carte menu, or indulge your senses in a six to eight-course set ($28.80 – $32.80 per person).

Begin your foray into vegetarian dining with The Classic Appetiser ($4.80), a trio of bite-sized creations hailing from Chinese, Japanese, and Western cuisine. Dig into a mouthwatering union of konnyaku jelly, peach gum, goji berries, and sesame dressing with the Chinese starter, which awakens tastebuds with its savoury notes.

Then, journey into the sweet world of Japanese flavours with a crunchy Japanese cucumber slice, delicately wrapped and served with sweet plum sauce.

The cherry tomato, served with sour plump sauce provides a zesty finish to this appetite-whetting starter.

Carb-seeking diners may delight in the Truffle Breadsticks with Blueberry Yoghurt Sauce ($3.80). Enjoy the mix of tart flavours with the rich savouriness of the truffle butter on your breadsticks, whose soft texture mimics chewy mochi.

More Chinese and Japanese influences are present in Elemen Classic’s main dishes. Noteworthy rice-based dishes include Kale Tofu with Wild Rice ($15.80), a richly flavoured main that serves up fragrant rice in a bamboo tube that locks in its umami flavour. The silky homemade tofu is a perfect accompaniment to the wild rice.

For a wok hei-filled experience, go for the Stir-Fried Brown Rice with Preserved Bean Curd ($16.80), a hearty dish that is served with king oyster mushroom and edamame for added colour and flavour.

Elemen Classic’s dedication to delivering nourishing meals is encapsulated in its Cantonese Double-Boiled Cordyceps Flower with Peach Gum in Superior Soup ($10.80). Double-boiled for four hours to extract the essence of the glower and peach gum, this robust broth is chock full of mouthwatering ingredients that are rich in collagen.

Diners will be pleasantly surprised by the Truffle Broth Ramen ($14.80), whose rich stock is reminiscent of traditional tonkotsu ramen which relies on pork to achieve a creamy broth. At Elemen, the creamy consistency is owed to the use of arrowroot mushroom, turnip, mountain yam, and tangerine peel. With a medley of ingredients including ajitama egg and springy handmade dumpling atop al dente noodles, this will delight Japanese food lovers.

The Laksa Fettucine ($16.80) marries Italian and local flavours, with a pleasantly tingly level of spiciness.

Last but not least, end your meal on a sweet note with dessert, a Purple Rice Porridge with Coconut Ice Cream ($8.80) that is rich yet light to make you want more.
