Elixir Bar at Kuvo Singapore: Hidden Gem In Orchard For Fusion Drinks And Small Plates

Kuvo is an all-in-one restaurant cum bar lounge, occupying more than 9,000 sq ft on the second floor of Orchard Shopping Centre. Housed to a bespoke cocktail bar (Elixir Bar), Vine Lounge (offering rare whiskies and vintage wines), a dining space and a gift shop, be prepared to spend several hours here having a meal with a tipple or two.

We headed over to Elixir Bar to have some small plates dishes and several rounds of cocktails. For Singapore Cocktail Festival 2017 occuring between 16-21 March 2017, there will six specially concocted cocktails, all priced at $20 ++. Also, choose from 10 small plates at 2 for $18 ++ (special rates during SGCF 2017 only).

Glad to meet award-winning Chef Mixologist and culinarist Yutaka Nakashima who makes really smooth, beautiful and well-balanced cocktails!

Kuvo SGCF 2017 Cocktail ($20 each)

Da Bomb Cilantro Julep

Mount Gay rum, lemoncello, sambal Andaliman chili paste, simple syrup, fresh lemon and coriander

One of the must-tries, a strong drink with a citrusy flavour, followed by the subtle tingling effect of sambal chili on your tongue and down your throat.

Scottish Tablet

Bruichladdich whisky, bacherovka liqueur, salted caramel sauce, black walnuts bitter, condense milk and egg yolk

Best to end the meal with, for it is a sweet and creamy cocktail that serves like a satisfying dessert.

Kyo-Gimlet

House Kyogi infused botanist gin, fresh lemon juice and homemade genmai tea syrup

If you love the pleasantness in your drink, you would enjoy the clean, soothing taste of the Kyo-Gimlet. Light on the palate with a unique aroma of the pinewood infused within. Perfect as a pre-meal drink.

Gazpacho de Botanist

House infused roasted garlic, rosemary, dehydrated vine-ripe tomato botanist gin, fresh red bell pepper, fresh lime, balsamic vinegar and truffle oil

My favourite goes to this savoury cocktail, combining ingredients you would hardly find in your drink. Imagine your chilled gazpacho spiked with alcohol. Each sip of the drink was rewarded with the aromas of truffles and flavoursome textures. Topped with a toasted bread for dipping/stirring, it is definitely a deceivingly good cocktail.

The other two cocktails also available for SGCF 2017 are the:

L’Orange Bliss

House sun-dried tangerine peel infused botanist gin, cointreau and fresh lemon juice

Perfect Harmony

Remy Martin VSOP, cointreau blood orange liqueur, aperol and sauvignon blanc

We also have some bar snacks to go along with the cocktails.

Small Plates (2 for S18):

Seafood Radish Cake

Radish cake shaped into two long rectangles with lightly crisp edges and a moist interior. A twist from the usual Chinese version.

Kuvo Hot Wings

Coffee-infused sauce with an interesting play of flavours on the tongue – bitter, sweet and spicy aftertaste. Served with baby carrots crudites and blue cheese dip.

Pork Dumpling

Tender pork wrapped in thick yet soft dumpling skin in a rich and creamy sauce.

Ricotta Dip & Toast

A sourish cheesy dip with pickles, vegetables, and toast. Love the juxtaposing textures.

Croissant Bread Pudding $14

Another distinctive dish lies in this dessert served in a filo pastry encasing the bread pudding, drizzled in salted caramel sauce and served with a scoop of gelato. Flakey on the outside, it was satiating with the soft sponge-like consistency within.

The meal at Elixir Bar at Kuvo was truly an enjoyable one. Not only are each dish well-presented and thought-out, the drinks are surprising on a whole new level. Don’t miss out on the drinks as they are only available during the Singapore Cocktail Festival from 16-21 March 2017!
