Ginger at PARKROYAL presents affordable Christmas buffet with Festive Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Gula Melaka log cake & more!
Ginger at PARKROYAL on Beach Road has always been a purveyor of interesting buffets with the crowd-favourite lobster and crab theme night buffets!
This time round, in preparation for the Christmas festivities, they’ve lined up a meaty spread along with savoury crustaceans and decked the halls with pretty desserts! Here are some of their specialties to look forward to, for both seafood and meat lovers alike.
The highlights of the buffet for the Christmas festivities are these Grilled Scallops with Yuzu and Shoyu on a bed of sea salt, Traditional Roasted Turkey drizzled with Giblet Sauces and Cranberry Jus, Herb-Crusted Roast Beef, Honey-Glazed Ham, Rock Lobsters with Bouillabaisse, Gula Melaka Christmas Log cake, followed by takeaway-only Sze Chuan Mala Pig Trotters.
The scallops were as we expected: plump, juicy, and full of oriental flavour. They’ve added yuzu, shoyu, and a dash of shaved bonito flakes. We shamelessly took four scallops as they were so good and addictive!
The Herb-Crusted Roast Beef and Honey-Glazed Ham, when sliced thinly, are great!
The roast beef, in particular, deserves a special mention. It’s roasted well, the moisture of the meat kept intact and the herb crust gives it a deeper flavour than without it.
The honey glazed ham tastes as fine as any honey-glazed ham we’ve tried (can’t really go wrong with the honey ham)!
The Traditional Roasted Turkey drizzled with Giblet Sauces and Cranberry Jus is another Christmas dish you must try. These delicious sauces go well with the juicy turkey ham!
Don’t forget to scoop a handful of these Honey Roasted Chestnuts into your plate and munch them along with your Christmas specials: They complement the meats and vegetables well.
The Rock Lobsters with Bouillabaisse tasted tender and soft – not one bit rubbery or overly chewy – just the way we love our lobsters! The bouillabaisse sauce was subtle and not very strong, so there wasn’t a very distinctive flavour. This probably works in its favour because we took two portions of the lobsters without the feeling of surfeit!
The takeaway Sze Chuan Mala Pig Trotters has a very rich, spicy Sze Chuan flavour encrusted over the skin of the trotters. The skin could be more crispy, whereas the meat was just right, being soft and tender. It was the collagen along with the tasty skin that gave it the extra brownie points from us!
The Gula Melaka Christmas Log Cake is a really special-tasting cake that’s got our Singaporean favourites inside: pandan, gula melaka, and jellies. It’s placed together with other lovely assorted Christmas desserts. If we weren’t so full, we’d take the log cake home for a Christmas party with friends and family – yes, it was that good!
Apart from the Christmassy treats and special dishes, Ginger has its usual popular dishes going on, like the Chili Crab, Seafood on Ice, Satay, and many others.
Happy Christmas feasting! Get your seats for Christmas today!
