Heng Hoi Tod Chaw Lae, Charoen Nakhon, Bangkok – Crispy Oyster Omelette, Pad Thai and Garlic Butter Scallops
Heng Hoi Tod Chaw Lae has a few outlets and I visited the one at Charoen Nakhon. The famous crispy oyster omelette is a must-try here. The menu also offers the Crispy Fried Egg with other ingredients like mussels, seabass, crab meat and shrimps, Pad Thai (from THB 80) and side dishes.
The restaurant is bright and spacious. It is also quiet on a weekday morning.
The Stir-fried Oysters with Crispy Fried Egg THB 140 is a hearty portion. The oysters are small, but juicy and generous. The egg is crispy at the edges and stretchy in the middle. It is quite tasty and there are condiments like chilli flakes available on the table to spice it up. You can also add Cheese for THB 59.
The Baked Garlic Butter Scallops with Homemade Chilli Dip THB 119 is served with five half shell scallops. The scallops are alright. I like the chilli dip more. It is spicy, sweet and tangy. Good with the oyster omelette too.
