Hock Kee Kopitiam, JB City Square – Matcha Egg Tart

Hock Kee Kopitiam 福气安康 brings together flavours of Malaysian and Nanyang into everyday fare.

While I have not tried their mains, the popular restaurant in Johor Bahru City Square is always teeming with crowd.

One of the best-selling items here is the egg tart, which is also perfect for takeaway. It is recommended to purchase early as they are mostly sold out past evening time.

Besides the signature Sunshine Egg Tart RM4.80, there are flavours like Curry Potato, Sea Salt, and Matcha RM6.80 as the newest addition.

The pastry is delightfully flaky and crumbly.

The egg custard is thick and soft, tastes eggy with hints of matcha, and is topped with crispy matcha crumbs. These are truly worth getting!
