Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart – Famous Malaysian Brand in Singapore

Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart is a famous Malaysian brand with over 30 outlets spanning across countries like Hong Kong, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore. Besides being one of the best cheese tart kiosk within its home country, Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart is also hit with a wave of success in Australia which sees a total of 13 outlets there alone.

Anyway, I am glad Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart has come to Singapore, opening in Causeway Point, Changi City Point, Jurong Point, North Point City, Parkway Parade and White Sands.

The newest outlet is at Causeway Point, basement 1, That iconic yellow shop is not easy to miss and everyday the cheese tarts are freshly baked on the spot.

Currently not available in Singapore is the Matcha Azuki Cheese Tart which I really wish is sold here! I bought this during a trip in Kuala Lumpur at the Midvalley Megamall.

The Matcha Azuki was rich in matcha taste with a red bean centre. Being more custardy than cheesy, it was on the sweeter side. The crust, on the other hand, was super crumbly. So, just bite into it!

Other flavours available in Singapore is the Original, Chocolate with Almond Nibs and Durian Cheese Tart.

I had the same Durian Cheese Tart at Sutera Mall in Johor Bahru and Singapore. Having tried both, I have to admit that the consistency is there which is good.

The durian and cheese fillings made the overall taste thicker and richer, especially when eaten chilled.

As for the Chocolate with Almond Nibs,  it was intensely smooth and mousse-like while being very nutty. Again the crust is threatening to break apart (you can see the little cracks on it). Chocolate lovers would adore this but I would find it a bit overwhelming after one piece.

Prices-wise, it costs about twice as much for a cheese tart in Singapore than Malaysia.

The cheese tart in Singapore is SGD$3.50-3.90 while those in Malaysia is around RM5.90 = SGD$1.90 per piece.

Would you travel the border for this?
