Hong Chang Frog Porridge and BBQ Fish – Claypot Frog and Sambal Stingray

Hong Chang Frog Porridge and BBQ Fish is a famous spot along Braddell Road for local comfort food like claypot frog and sambal stingray. Opened till late at 2AM, it is also a popular supper hunt for night owls.

It is situated round a corner of the road, with limited parking lots.

There are seats indoor and outdoor.

The specialty Claypot Frog can be prepared in three ways – Dry Chilli, Ginger Spring Onion or mixed with Porridge.

Prices start from $9 for one frog.

The BBQ seafood is equally tempting. Highlights include the Stingray (Sambal or Garlic, from $12), Flower Clams (Thai, Sambal or Ginger Onion, from $10) and Cray Fish (Sambal or Butter, from $15 for three).

The Stingray $12 is slathered in a generous amount of fragrant and spicy sambal. The stingray is fleshy and succulent.

The Claypot Frog ($18 for three frogs) served in dry chilli sauce is also spicy and flavourful. The meat is tender with a slight chew.

Portion is just nice for one person.

The Soursop $3 is icy and sweet.
