Kotak Malaysia, SS15 Subang Jaya – Level 10 Spicy Ayam Geprek for the Challenge

Kotak Malaysia is a humble Indonesian eatery located at SS15 Subang Jaya with a menu not as simple as it looks.

They are famous for the Ayam Geprek with a spicy level up to ten. Definitely not for the faint-hearted. If you are a fan of fiery hot food, like myself, let this Ayam Geprek take you on a thrill-seeking journey!

The Ayam Geprek comes in four different flavours – Original RM13.80, Cheesy RM15.80, Nachos RM15.80 and Butter Creamy RM13 while the Udang Geprek RM15.80 is an alternative option to chicken. Spicy level starts from one to ten.

Other choices on the menu include the classic noodle and rice dishes, alongside desserts such as the Burbur Sum Sum RM6.80 and Coconut Ice Cream RM9.80 to bring down the heat.

Menu

I tried the Ayam Geprek at level five spiciness.

The crispy chicken was shredded, flavourful and tender. The portion was generous and came marinated with lots of sambal chilli. It was both numbing and spicy but the intensity was good for me. For those who hardly take spicy food, this might get too aggressive for your tongue.

There is also free-flow of soup at the restaurant. So, do help yourself to it for pairing with the spicy Ayam Geprek.
