KSL Night Market/Pasar Malam on every Monday for lots of local food & produces!

If you are planning a trip to KSL, schedule a night on a Monday where you get to experience the night market just beside KSL City Mall. Held on every Monday between roughly 5pm to 10pm, it is a 19-minute walk (I timed myself) from one end to the other, along Jalan Seladang.

There are many vendors, and I am glad most of them are different. The night market showcases many of their local food, probably homemade by the residents there. There are produces such as fruits and vegetables, merchandises like clothes and daily essentials, and fighting fishes in water bags which reminded me of childhood days.

Some of the stores are lined on one side of the road while motor vehicles drove past seamlessly. Passer-by like us, simply walk in one or two files along the road. It wasn’t as crowded as I thought; you don’t have to jostle like in Chinatown during Chinese New Year.

Here’s the map where the night market starts and ends.

As I was walking, there were a lot of things to check out! There were cute buns, giant meat buns, rice dumplings, dim sum, roast duck, old-school cake, braised meat rice, peanut pancakes, assorted skewers and salted chicken.

Some of the items were freshly prepared on the spot such as the JB carrot cake, Sarawak kolo mee and fried snacks (squid, fish sticks etc).

Be prepared to queue at this popular stall selling hot-favourite – grilled king oyster mushrooms! Though the mushrooms took quite long to be grilled, they were really tasty and worth braving the queue.

Check out the review here (and their website here for updates on stall location)!
