Le 楽 Cafe Penang – Damn good Stuffed Asian-fusion Breakfast Toast

If you are looking for some nicely stuffed toast and specialty coffee, let Le 楽 Cafe brighten up your day with something simple and satisfying, yet affordably priced.

Nested along Jalan Gurdwara are several cafes and Le Cafe stands out for its Asian-fusion toasts that would fit local tastebuds. There are the classic open-faced Peanut Butter Toast RM6 and Milk Cheese Toast RM6 slathered with their delicious spreads.

For stuffed pocket toasts, the fillings are neatly arranged in between two lightly toasted bread, enclosed in a thin wrapper, then sliced into half to reveal the mouth-watering midsection.

The stuffed toast starts at RM8. The Ori RM8 is like your full breakfast of sliced chicken ham, scrambled egg with cheese and corn, homemade tartar, tomato and lettuce sandwiched together.

For something meatier and fuller, the Fish Katsu Curry (tempura fish with Japanese curry) RM10, Siam Po (Thai grilled pork with sweet chilli) RM11 and Goo (homemade beef patty with peanut and BBQ sauce) RM14 are worth considering.

 

I had their special of the month – Mentaiko Crab RM13.

It arrived generously loaded with chunky crab meats and blanketed by a layer of umami mentaiko mayo. In between was the creamy and slightly cheesy scrambled egg with corn bits, crunchy Japanese cucumber and seaweed flakes. The different ingredients went really well altogether such that each bite was rewardingly tasty.

From 9AM – 11AM, you can also add on RM7 to make it a breakfast set that comes with Coffee, Tea or Juice.

If you still have stomach for more, you might want to try their homemade Baked Cheese Cake RM12 or Honey Baked Cheese Chiffon RM12.
