Magi Planet – Taiwanese Kiki Sichuan Pepper & Sweet Potato Popcorn Flavours

Magi Planet‘s popcorns never disappoint. I have tried a fair range of them and developed a biasedness towards several flavours such as the Corn Soup and fiery Mala.

Besides the classic ones, there are seasonal flavours that come in creative combinations (e.g. Takoyaki and Kimchi)  or are very much local-inspired (e.g. Chilli Crab and Chicken Rice).

This Mid-Autumn, let Magi Planet’s popcorns bring you a step closer to Taiwan with two new flavours – Kiki Sichuan Pepper and Sweet Potatoes – in limited quantities!

Drawing inspiration from the Taiwanese Kiki Sichuan Pepper Noodles, the flavours are incorporated into the Kiki Sichuan Pepper $9.90 using Sichuan peppercorn, chilli powder and spices. The popcorns are really tasty, super numbing while not overwhelmingly spicy.

The Kiki noodle brand has also been endorsed by famous Taiwanese-Hong Kong celebrity, Shu Qi.

The Sweet Potatoes $9.20, on the other hand, has a tinge of sweetness and earthiness to the taste. The Tainung yellow sweet potato and purple sweet potato are used to create the wondrous flavour and aroma.
