Meixi’s Kitchen Yong Tau Foo 美茜客家手工酿豆腐 in Toa Payoh

Meixi’s Kitchen Yong Tau Foo 美茜客家手工酿豆腐 in Toa Payoh Lorong 4 has been my favourite go-to place for Yong Tau Foo!

This uncle manning the stall has always been warm, humorous, and a joy to meet.

There is always a never-ending queue during lunchtime. However, it moves swiftly.

There is a counter to pick your own ingredients (minimum six items). After which, you can make payment and join the queue in front of the stall to collect your order.

5 Ingredients + 1 Noodle – $5

1 Ingredient – $0.80

There is an option for soup or dry version. Add-on $1 for premium soup bases like Laksa, Tom Yum, and Mala.

For ingredients, there is quite a variety to choose from.

The homemade Pork Ball, and Fried Chicken Ball (with Black Pepper or Vegetable) are the signatures here.

They are served fried with dipping sauces you can add for yourself at the counter.

These can be slightly dry, yet addictive at the same time.

Both the Mala and Tom Yum soup bases that I have tried are rich in taste.

The Mala soup is more numbing than spicy, while the Tom Yum soup is tangy.

The Otah slice is also one of my favourites. It is moist and tender, with a light crisp exterior.

Overall, it is quite a filling and taste-worthy meal.
