Merah Putih, Bali – Garden-themed Indonesian Fine Dining Restaurant

Merah Putih, a garden-themed fine dining restaurant in Bali, spots a spacious, luxurious interior with high ceiling and three teak pods above ground for extra privacy.

The restaurant also houses a wine cellar and cocktail bar for some relaxing after meal drinks.

Service is commendable.

The menu centres around small and large sharing plates, fostering communal dining among friends and families. Savour classic Indonesian dishes with a creative twist and beautifully plated to whet appetites.

Besides a la carte, there are also Tasting Menu IDR 690K and Vegan IDR 480K option highlighting the signatures.

The refreshing Merah Putih Sour IDR 140K is a nice start to the meal.

Interestingly, the coaster is the mugshot of one of their staffs!

The Soto Ayam is served as an amuse bouche, featuring tender chicken strips in a milky soup with the sweetness and aroma of corns. This is so addictive.

Another favourite of mine is the Pangsit Udang IDR 55K, comprising of a palm-sized dumpling filled with prawn and fish in tasty laksa broth.

The special of the day, Kerang Dabu Dabu IDR 40K, is not to be missed. The chilled Lombok oyster is slurp-worthy good with a touch of sourish lemon granita and tangy tomato salsa.

The heartier portions include the chef recommended Bak Pao Sapi IDR 95K (with Sumatran beef and green chilli) and Bebek Goreng IDR 120K (with kremes).

Complement the dishes with homemade Sambal IDR 15K, which comes in a sizeable portion and choices like Merah, Ijo, Bajak, Balado and Matah.
