MiniBAR at Centrepoint serves plated Magnolia Ice Cream Desserts & Cocktails

Do you know that Singapore actually has a Magnolia Snack Bar back in the 1937? Several generations down and now we are blessed with the opening of the MiniBAR at The Centrepoint that features a range of Magnolia desserts. Meanwhile, await for the ultimate launch of the Capitol Milk Bar (previously Magnolia Snack Bar) that is coming soon at The Capitol Kempinski.

The MiniBAR faces the busy Orchard Road with a vibrant, modernistic decor and high seats.

Here, the familiar Magnolia ice cream gets transformed into fancy plated desserts such as the Popiah Ice Cream Roll $2.50, Rainbow Pressed Sandwich $2.50, ice cream cone inspired by local desserts and Milkshake $3.90.

The MiniBAR won’t be called a bar without the likes of boozes. Savour the Ice Cream cocktails (2 for $22) infused withMagnolia ice cream too!

The selection of Magnolia Ice Cream which are served in the desserts includes the Coconut, Green Tea, Peppermint Chocolate, Yam and more.

What happens when local desserts are being reimagined?

We got a taste of the Mao Shan Wang durian ice cream stuffed into a crispy nutella-coated cone with whipped cream and sago bits. The wafer cone was crunchy and tasty on its own. Of course, the Mao Shan Wang is still one of my favourite Magnolia ice cream flavour. Nonetheless, I didn’t fancy the idea of having cream within.

There’s also the Mango Sago Ice Cream and Teh Tarik Dinosaur ice cream cone too.

The Taro Milkshake is like your mini version of the crazy milkshake topped with a chiffon cake. The milkshake is rich, creamy and on the sweeter side.

This is the place when you feel like having atas ice cream. Surely, it also makes a good spot for relaxing your feet after hours of shopping along Orchard Road.

If you are looking for a place to chill and savour some dessert-like cocktails, this might be the place to try out for the night.
