Museum of Contemporary Art, MOCA Bangkok, is a private art museum in Bangkok by art collector, Boonchai Bencharongkul. It is situated between Don Mueang International Airport and the city area,
The spacious, six-storey museum showcases the proud works of various Thai artists, reflecting their creativity and beliefs. The museum is neat and well-organised.
Ticket is priced at THB $280 per adult and THB $120 for student with valid ID.
At the front lawn, be greeted by the ‘Happiness’, a lotus-inspired sculpture by Nonthivathn Chandhanaphalin, National Artist in Sculpture.
The ground floor has a Moca Cafe for refreshments and Moca store to bring a little souvenir home.
The themes for the floors can be loosely divided into:
Ground Floor – National Artists and Temporary Exhibition
2nd Floor – Religion, Faiths and Beliefs
3rd Floor – Imagination and Fantasy, and a dark-blue Bloom Room
4th Floor – Works of Thailand’s greatest artists
5th Floor – International Pieces, including the Richard Green gallery
The artworks are mind-blowing. Some are thought-provoking, some would leave you in awe. It may take hours just to read through everything.
