Naughty Nuri’s Singapore: Bali’s Famous Pork Ribs And Cocktails
Naughty Nuri’s, known for their killer ribs, is making the waves in Singapore. With the tagline ‘Killer Ribs and Twisted Martinis‘, you know what you are in for – gnawing on pork ribs and sipping martinis. Sounds great!
Currently, there is also a lunch promotion at SGD 12.90 ++ for a choice of main with complimentary soup and soda.
So what’s special about these ribs?
Naughty Nuri’s has its own secret recipe perfected over the years before the sauce made it to the table. The ribs are marinaded in Balinese spices, glazed with BBQ sauce and grilled over charcoal. The result is a not-so-sweet but slightly savoury BBQ sauce generously coated over the ribs. Additionally, the meats are tender, moist and sliced through easily.
Orang Dua Platter (SGD 58 for two pax):
- Half rack of Naughty Nuri’s Pork Ribs
- Ayam Panggang (Roast Chicken)
- Squid Bakar
- Smashed Potatoes with Pork Scratchings
- Charred Organic Corn
- Satay Lokal
- Homemade Achar
The pork ribs were really tasty and flavourful with the sauce. Roast chicken was quite tender as well with some charred edges. Another interesting discovery was the potatoes that were served fried with pork. That elevated the simplicity of the potatoes to a whole new level.
Kerang Sambal Belachan (SGD 13)
The bowl of lala may seem small for the portion but it was rather addictive on its own. The clam meats were plum and juicy.
Ayam Lemak (SGD 14)
I enjoyed the braised chicken leg cooked in tumeric and coconut gravy. The meat was soft yet not mushy, with just the right kind of texture whereby the meat tore off from the bone easily.
Another dish that looked appetising from the menu was the Wagyu Short Rib Rendang (SGD 16) which I would be keen to order as well.
As for desserts, there are five types available.
Ice Chendol (SGD 6)
The fragrance of the coconut milk was prominent in the chendol. I especially loved how the ice was shaved instead of using coarse ice.
Refreshing Lemongrass Jelly (SGD 5)
I would have preferred the homemade lemongrass jelly to be served on ice. However, it was served directly in a bowl with candied fruits.
Squeeze a bit of lime over it, and this dessert would easily cleanse my palate after a meaty meal.
Of course, one shouldn’t leave Naughty Nuri’s without having their cocktails.
Do try their Signature Martini (SGD 15) or Anthony’s Famous Vodka Martini (SGD 15).
Craving for a drink sweeter and sourish, we had the Passionfruit Martini (SGD 13). Non-drinkers can also get mocktails such as the Strawberry-Lychee Punch (SGD 8).
