Odarijip 오다리집, Seoul – Soy Sauce Marinated Crab in Myeongdong

Lovers of raw soy sauce marinated crabs (ganjang gaejang) should give Odarijip 오다리집 a visit!

Situated in Myeongdong, Odarijip has two outlets, one of which offers charcoal grills for BBQ.

I visited the outlet on a Sunday noon and it was full-house. Despite making a reservation ahead, I still had to queue.

Odarijip is known for its fresh raw marinated crabs. The crabs are available in various sizes (from 200g onwards).

There are also sides like Seafood and Green Onion Pancake (from KRW 19000).

There are eight banchan such as seasoned mushrooms, kimchi, seaweed, pickles, pickled cabbage and beancurd skin.

I chose the L-sized Crab (about 350g) priced at KRW 39800.

Each order of crab comes with a kimchi stew, steamed egg, japchae and rice with seasoned laver and fish roe. The entire spread is quite generous and filling for one.

The soy sauce marinated crab is fresh and fleshy, with abundant crab roe.

The tangy kimchi stew contains lots of kimchi which I love. The steamed egg looks glorious and tastes really good.

The addition of fish roe to the rice adds a touch of brininess to the rice.

Overall, the meal here is exceptional and worth every penny.
