OMU Singapore – Overflowing Lava Omurice at Suntec City Mall

The Japanese love their omelettes and I have to say they make very good ones.

If you have not been to Japan nor tried the omelette and/or omurice, don’t worry because you can now have it in Singapore too!

OMU has opened at Suntec City Mall, selling omurice which is basically a huge egg pocket served over fried rice. The omurice comes with a huge selection of sauces to choose from. There are sauce base such as Tomato Cream, Demiglaze, Japanese, Cream or even a mix of Hayashi and Curry.

While OMU may originate from Thailand, the omelette is similar to that seen in videos.

We tried the Nagoya Style Red Miso Sauce Omurice With Pork Cutlets $14.80 (add $2 for lava style egg). The egg when sliced apart with a knife, blossomed to reveal the soft runny egg within flowing out like lava.

It was delicious; wet and creamy, nothing I have tried before.

As for the pork cutlet, my companion totally enjoyed it especially with the thick gravy.

Given the price-point, this is a very worthy dish that would keep you full and satisfied.
