YAY! One Raffles Place has got new food outlets that would make you want to step out of your office to grab a bite or quench your thirst. That said, I realise that the basement level has undergone much changes since my previous visit last year.

No more boring meals!

Lunch time can become more exciting with the Truffle Lobster Roll and signature chowders from Seattle Pike Chowder while not forgetting the Italian gelato from sister outlet Giovanni L. Feeling thirsty? Remember to dabao the Amamoto Cafe’s Soy/Matcha Amazake or cold-pressed juices; healthier choices which you won’t feel guilty having. Oh and the yummy pies from April’s Bakery to fill your hungry tummies during break time!

Amamoto Cafe

Amazake 甘酒, is a traditional Japanese drink made from fermented rice. it makes a good energy source as a health drink. At Amamoto Cafe, you can have these non-alcoholic drinks without any added sugar, either as pure Amazake and/or have it with soy, matcha and even ginger.

The Amamoto Chia Seed Parfait is an affordable cup of chia seed pudding topped with cold-pressed fruit puree, fruits and nuts. We had the Strawberry Banana Puree Chia Seed Parfait which came with 1:1 ratio of chia seed to bended goodness!

Prices start from $3.80 for drinks and $5.80 for chia seed parfait. Also suitable for those who seek for a diary-free, lactose-free, and gluten-free drink or dessert.

April’s Bakery

April’s Bakery was founded by Ms. Nathanaporn Euawanthanakhun (orn), a flight attendant-turned-baker. Her inspiration comes from the Honey Pie Pork she usually has in Hong Kong which led her to start developing her own puff pastry and filling.

Now the internationally known April’s Bakery has opened at One Raffles Place, with the first outlet at Tampines Central. Featuring more than 10 flavours, each pie comes with a flakey pastry skin and a generous amount of fillings. Popular flavours include the Tokyo Banana, Thai Tea, Purple Sweet Potato, Sweet Egg Floss and Taro!

Each pie is priced at $2 only.

Durian lovers will be happy to know that the Tampines outlet is now selling Durian Custard Pie for a limited time period!

Jewel Coffee

The thriving business of Jewel Coffee during it’s first opening in 2011 at One Shenton Way has lead to multiple outlets islandwide. Targeting mostly office crowds at One Raffles place, it would not be uncommon to see coffee drinkers lining up in the morning for their essential perk-me-up with espresso starting at $4.80 onwards.

You can check out their list of beans availability such as the Fazenda Cachoeira da Grama and Mandheling Terminator 3 from their website.

Besides coffee, there is quite a wide selection for cakes like the Tiramisu Mousse Cake $6.50, Banana Loaf Cake $6.90 and the zesty Yuzu Cheesecake $6.50.

Seattle Pike Chowder

The Number 1 American Chowder from the Pacific Northwest is not your typical chowder. With several accolades under its brand, Seattle Pike Chowder lives up to its name with their signature chowder bowls.
