Pastories by Yeo Min – Traditional Pastries with Local Flavours

Baker X at Orchard Central welcomes its next home baker, Pastories by Yeo Min. The local pastry brand was founded upon Yeo Min’s love for Chinese pastry.

The founder is also the author behind the cookbook Chinese Pastry School, a finalist on Channel 8’s Creme de la Creme and a runner-up in the World Gourmet Summit Apprentice Chef competition.

Her dedication can be seen in crafting her own ingredients such as candied winter melon, maltose syrup, and bean paste. While staying true to traditional pastry making, she adds her twist and flavours to the creations, making them more accessible and palatable to a wider audience.

Available from now till 9 December 2024, Pastories will be at Baker X for dine-in and takeaways.

An exclusive item at Baker X is the moist Gula Melaka Banana Cake $8 topped with salted crumble. Another highlight is the Mushroom Rendang Focaccia $10 which is spongy, chewy and spicy with a kick. The Kueh Kosui Crumble Bar $8 features a chewy block of gula melaka mochi patted in a crunchy sweet combination of oatmeal coconut crumble and coconut shreds. Every pastry is a delightful discovery of flavours and texture.

Other offerings include Almond-Sesame Marble Cake $8, Egg Tart $3 and Bandung Tres Leches $10.

Baker X has also been transformed by Yeo Min into a mini museum to showcase her collection of cookbooks and artefacts such as batu giling, chwee kueh cups and tutu kueh mould.
