A hidden gem at the far end of Shilin Night Market 士林夜市, there is this popular Taiwanese shaved ice dessert specialty store, Eastern Caramel Condensed Milk Tapioca 台南東區焦糖煉乳包心粉圓. Originated from Tainan, this Taipei branch offers a variety of desserts including shaved ice, grass jelly, soy beancurd and red bean soup.
The cafe is quite small with a huge seats.
Menu
The Grass Jelly Caramel Condensed Milk Shaved Ice NT $90 is shaped like a dome. Within the shaved ice is a generous serving of grass jelly. The ice melts quite fast.
On the side is a bowl of chewy mini tapioca balls and assorted taro balls.
The sweetness of the dessert can be adjusted upon order. Mine is not too sweet.
The portion is huge for the price.
