Singapore Cocktail Festival 2017: 6 Highlights You Shouldn’t Miss Out On!
The inaugural Singapore Cocktail Festival 2017 is back with a blast. Held between 16th to 19th March 2017, the event gathers a total of 45 bars alongside a list of masterclasses and workshops for aficionados and drink-lovers.
Situated in an unused police station, it had a make-over into Singapore’s first-ever cocktail festival village. Louder and bigger in action, do check out the several highlights of the cocktail festival.
1. Asia Bar Battle: The Ultimate Cocktail Showdown
Catch bartenders from across Asia such as Japan and Vietnam battle it out. Four bartenders from their own country will be making two cocktails each as they compete for speed, taste and execution. An intensive yet exciting performance that would have your heart racing with the finalists.
2. You get to vote for Singapore’s best cocktail
Take your pick from among the four bars, each featuring their signature drinks filled with intriguing flavours.
This year’s top four drinks are Kopi Ol’ Fashioned by Crackerjack, Shiok Collins by Mitzo Restaurant & bar, Leo’s Flip by Nutmeg & Clove and Lion City Sour by 28 HongKong Street.
Don’t be shy to order all four to try and cast your vote with a post on Facebook or Instagram as well. Who knows you might get to win a pair of bar tour tickets.
3. Funky Cocktail Rooms
Experience cocktails like no others in these thematic cocktail rooms.
Get your grooves going at the Disco Fitness Studio, or have a stylish haircut while sipping on cocktails at Cuts & Booze.
No, that’s not it. Head over to Bol and Snow Leopard where you get to hand-pick your own herbs (like chocolate mint, lemon mint, thyme and rosemary etc), decide on your fruits and syrup to be included, and the mixologists will make the cocktail for you. Well, the queue is never-ending for this one.
4. Food
Of course, here are some food to get you started without drinking on an empty stomach. Featuring eight stalls namely Izy Dining & Bar, The Disgruntled Brasserie, Tiger’s Milk and so on, prices start from $10 onwards for each dish.
