The Stolen Cup – Gula Melaka Latte & Salted Egg Yolk Croissant in Jonker Street

Looking for a resting place along Jonker Street in Melaka? Drop by The Stolen Cup, a cosy Malaysian cafe easily recognisable for its wide entrance.

The rustic garden-esque interior greets with wooden tables and metal chairs amidst lots of potted plants. For a scorching weekday afternoon, the cafe is almost packed as tourists and locals alike drifted in for a cooling homemade soft serve, icy drink or snack.

The menu covers a good range of coffee and tea, pastries and desserts to heartier mains like pasta and meats.

One of the must-tries includes the Signature Gula Melaka Latte (Hot RM11, Iced RM13). The latte was well-balanced in flavour. It was not too bitter and neither was it milky. The sweetness came from the sticky gula melaka sauce at the bottom which you could simply stir it up with the stick.

The Salted Egg Yolk Croissant RM9.90 came visibly speckled with sugar coating. The inside was more on the doughy side and lapped up the salted egg yolk sauce well enough.

It was a decent portion and I could taste the sauce in every mouthful.
