Theme Park Hotel at Resorts World Genting – Family-friendly & Nice View
Resort World Genting has no lack of hotels. But when it comes to big families with a budget in mind, Theme Park Hotel would fit the bill snugly.
Theme Park Hotel derived its name due to its close proximity to the upcoming theme park, the Twentieth Century Fox World Malaysia. The Arena of Stars, SkyAvenue lifestyle mall and SkyCasino are also a stone’s throw away from the hotel; bonus points for its strategic location.
As one of the oldest hotels in Genting, Theme Park Hotel has undergone a revamp (with the lobby area still in progress) and assumed a playful personality easily recognisable through its corridor and room interiors.
The walkway felt like a theatrical stroll from one building to another. One moment we were passing by coloured glass windows casting almost symmetrical light reflections below our feet; and the next moment we were swept along a purplish-lit path. Even at the lobby, we were made dwarfs against a giant bench that could seat several tired commuters.
Within the rooms, you could also find lines and cartoons that appeared ‘hand-drawn’, sprawled across walls and on your bathroom doors. These heart-warming gestures livened up the atmosphere greatly, boasting a boisterous and friendly environment.
At Theme Park Hotel, rooms are divided into four types – Honeymoon, King, Queen and Quad – with each room catering to different capacity.
Honeymoon Suite
As one of the more luxurious-looking accommodation, the Honeymoon Suite is specially designed for couples, along the romantic elements of courtship, proposal, wedding and honeymoon. What’s unique is that the living room allows couples to enjoy a ‘bathtub‘ session overlooking the TV screen, a rare occurrence in any hotel rooms. The bathroom is equally spacious for some serious pampering of oneself.
For Threes and Sixes
For larger traveling groups, Theme Park Hotel has got the right rooms catering to your needs. Here, the beds are the main focus of the hotel, be it single, double-sized or a built-up bunk bed.
Resembling Japanese tatami, the beds are placed on raised platforms and freed up space to store our luggages, slippers and clothes underneath.
As for the washroom, it is long and wide, with two cubicles – one for bathing and the other with toilet bowl. The basic necessities such as toothbrush, cotton swab, hair net and lotions are available in-room.
Do note that the rooms do not come with aircon. Due to the cold weather outside, you can on the fan or simply open a slit in the window to let the cold breeze enter. The room will be cool enough sufficiently.
Curtains and TV console come with adorable doodles while hangars hang on 2D wardrobe created by thick bold lines on the wall.
The view is beautiful too.
Quads
I stayed in one of the Quads room which featured two queen-sized beds. The minimalist layout against white-washed walls gives the room a very clean and pleasant look.
I particularly like the washroom which provides ample space for occupants to do different things altogether. No need to fight over one another for bathroom usage!
The room also comes with a balcony overlooking the forest greens.
