Xiao Yu Hao, Collyer Quay – Sauerkraut Fish and Taro Roll in CBD

Hailing from China, 小鱼号 Xiao Yu Hao Singapore is making a splash in Singapore with its signature sauerkraut fish bowl.

The dish, Suan Cai Yu 酸菜鱼, is fast becoming a comfort food among Singaporeans, with portions now available in single-serve for solo diners as well.

Situated in Collyer Quay Centre, office workers in the vicinity and fish lovers can savour these delicious bowls, which are served hot, quick, and in individual portion.

Available on the menu are various types of fish and marbled beef paired with their respective soup bases.

There are the Golden Sauerkraut Broth, Red Sour Broth, Sichuan Spicy Broth, Vit C Tomato Broth, and Spicy Lemon Broth.

Each bowl can also be further customised for an elevated experience. Add-ons include Tofu Puffs $2, Cheese Tofu $2.50, and Lobster Balls $2.50.

The White Fish in Spicy Lemon Broth $10.80 comes highly recommended.

Bite into succulent, slippery fish slices cooked in the zesty, refreshing broth. Accompanying ingredients are the soft tofu puffs, tofu skin, sweet potato vermicelli, wood ear mushroom, white radish slices, enoki mushroom, and baby cabbages.

Equally flavourful is the Sauerkraut Black Fish Five Grain Rice Noodles in Golden Broth $12.80. It features pickled mustard greens aged in clay jars for 300 days, which gives it a tang and rich taste. This is really addictive.

Other dishes on the menu include the Marbled Beef in Miao Style Red Sour Broth $16.20, wallet-friendly Sauerkraut White Fish in Golden Broth $9.90, and the must-try Taro Roll $5.80.

These superbly crispy taro rolls are served hot on the spot, with generous earthy sweet taro fillings.
