Yanxi Palace Steamboat 宴喜宫火锅 – Elixir Collagen Soup, Rose Beef Tongue & Colourful Noodles at Hotel RE!

The latest steamboat craze, Yanxi Palace Steamboat 宴喜宫火锅, offers a range of stunningly plated dishes which are more than a feast to the eyes.

Occupying The Great Ballroom at Hotel RE!, Yanxi Palance Steamboat might not be the most accessible supper spot but its tranquil surrounding could serve as a respite from the busier city areas.

The steamboat experience here is slightly more premium than the usual ones out there. There is a good range of soup bases, meat, seafood, meatballs and vegetables to choose from, as well as cooked dishes, desserts and giant bubble tea drinks. What stand out for the brand are their soup bases and creativity behind some of their signature dishes.

Made in house, double-boiled and simmered for hours, the eight types of soup bases are Buddha Jump Over the Wall (a nourishing soup infused with over 10 herbs), Imperial Elixir Youth (smooth, silky and collagen-infused; Also our favourite), Yanxi Treasure Pearl, Pepper Pork Stomach and Chicken, Tomato, Mala, Mushroom, and Pickled Vegetable.

You can choose to have it as a single ($18-22), dual ($9-15) or trio ($7.50-11.50) pot base.

Their Rose Beef Tongue $18 and Rose Tofu $8 are popular items on their menu and look appealing with their rose-like shape. If you like beef tongue, these are bouncy and not overly chewy. As for the rose tofu, they were firm in texture and tasted more like egg whites. We preferred the silkier type for our steamboat.

The mooncake-lookalike Seafood Lollipop $12 is served lok lok style and made with cuttlefish paste.

Seafood aficionados will adore the scrumptious Seafood Platter $68, comprising of Wild Abalone, Scallop, Tiger Prawn, Crayfish and Green Lipped Mussels.

With each order from the Three Brother Series in the menu, you can savour three different types of steamboat ingredients.

For instance, the Meat Brothers $24 comes with Sliced Lamb, Beef and Pork Collar.

Some other highlights include the Organic Handmade Rainbow Noodles $12, Minced Shrimp with Cheese $12, Sliced Kurobuta Pork Collar $12/24 and addictive Fried Crispy Fish Skin $6 in salted egg seasoning.

Priced at $5 per bowl, the eye-catching, sparkling ice jellies are available in three flavours – Original, Rose and Osmanthus. A perfect dessert to end off the meal.
