Yuen Kee Dumpling 袁记云饺, which opens in August, is the latest addition to Food Republic at 313@Somerset.

The dumpling specialty brand now has seven outlets islandwide.

Expect handmade dumplings made fresh on the spot, and filled with exciting flavours.

Through the glass panel, diners can catch the chefs at work, crafting each dumpling with precision.

The dumplings and wantons come in assorted fillings.

Prices start from $7.80 for ten pieces. Highlights include the best-selling Shrimp and Vegetables Pork Dumplings ($7.80 for ten), Corn and Pork Dumplings ($7.80 for ten), and Shrimp and Crab Roe Pork Wantons ($10.80 for ten). They can be enjoyed with la mian/noodles as well.

There are six types of sauces to choose from, such as the Fiery Spicy & Tangy Soup, and Peanut Sauce.

With such diverse selections, one can never get bored with each visit.

Even better, you can also buy back the dumplings to cook and enjoy at home.

For starters, the Family Feast Assorted Pork Dumplings ($7.80 for ten) allows one to try various flavours.

I spotted some with fillings like Chives, and Corn in my bowl.

I ordered with Viral Mixed Sauce with Chilli Oil is a blend of sticky peanut sauce with hot chilli oil. The spice level is tolerable.

The dumpling skin is thin, yet firm, has a slight chewy bite. The filling is generous, juicy, and nicely wrapped all the way to the edges. You won’t find empty pockets of air inside, which reflects the commitment to quality.

The dumplings are also served with some bean sprouts.
