5 Reasons Why You Should Get The LG G6 Smartphone
LG Electronics (LG) has unveiled the latest G6 Smartphone offering exceptional camera functions and a 18:9 full vision display. Armed with this smart technology, LG G6 comes in astro black, ice platinum and mystic white colors and will be available in Singapore on 14th April 2017. The retail price will start at $988 in M1, Singtel, Starhub and other lG authorized retailers.
During a recent event for the preview of the LG G6 smartphone, I get to understand, test and try the various functions of the smartphone.
So, what makes LG G6 stands out from the rest of the smartphones?
1. The ONLY smartphone in the world with 18:9 display format
Forget the usual 16:9 screen display in most smartphones because the LG G6 has one of the largest screen in the world as a smartphone. That means bigger view area for surfing the net, reading online articles and playing games.
And if you think it might be too large to fit into your hand, the smartphone has been tested for its comfortability and hand postures such that consumers need no worry further about user experience. The LG G6’s round edges also minimises the impact of phone drop.
2. Cinematic experience with Dolby vision
Carrying both Dolby Vision technology and HDR 10, picture quality is no longer an issue on the LG G6. Expect vivid colours and details when there are dark or brightly lit areas. Now you get to enjoy movies and dramas in their highest standard.
3. Dual 13 MP cameras with wide angle lens for a one-shot all-in
Functioning like a mini portable camera, the 125-degree wide angle lens allows you to capture a large area.
Without the need for selfie stick, you can snap a photo with a group of people simply just holding the phone an arm length away. Similarly, when you are stuck in the middle of a crowd and want a shot of yourself against the busy street, your photographer can just shoot form an arm length or so.
Videography can be fuss-free with the smooth transition between wide angle and standard camera features. How convenient.
4. Grids and squares to capture all perspectives in frame
Instead of cropping away unwanted edges, the LG G6 comes with a really cool function – the Square Camera Mode. Under this mode, you can further choose amongst four other variations.
Snap Shot: Split the screen into two squares (see second photo above)
Match Shot: Shooting two different photos and putting them together to get a disparage image
E.g. a lion’s head to a human body
Grid Shot: Collage of four squares to be occupied with photos or videos without the need for a third-party application
Guide Shot: Allowing the comparison between different shots where a chosen photo is used as a guide for the subsequent photos
E.g. Same person posing in different background
5. Durability – Resistance against water and dust
With IP68 water and dust resistance, where the LG G6 can survive for as long as 30 minutes in up to 1.5 meters of water level, you can worry less about accidental water spillage or dropping your phone down the toilet bowl.
Furthermore, the LG G6 gets heated up less easily with its high temperature endurance. Great.
I simply can’t wait to get my hands on the LG G6 right now.
Following the unveiling of the LG G6 in Singapore, we had some canapés as well, with several outstanding ones such as the passionfruit meringue and truffle tart.
