AngelFlorist’s Black Forest Birthday Bouquet Set takes the Cake!

How many times have you eaten a black forest cake and really, really enjoyed it? If your answer is “not often”— like me—then you’d be surprised to hear that this birthday set from AngelFlorist really takes the cake as one of the better tasting black forest cakes I’ve had so far, paired with a stunning bouquet of beautiful roses and seasonal flowers. I don’t eat a lot of black forest cakes. Most ones I’ve tasted weren’t too bad, but there was nothing that stuck to me… till I tried this one.

Before I jump into describing the black forest cake, let’s talk about the bouquet of flowers I received. The pink roses were so sweet-looking and smelled wonderful, cushioned by seasonal flowers and leaves! I adored the seasonal flowers’ pairing with the roses so much. The flowers were draped by this vintage-plum wrapper which made the lovely flowers stand out even more. If the flowers are a treat for the eyes, then the black forest cake is a treat for the stomach (wait for it)!

Now, the black forest cake. At first sight, it looks just as how a black forest cake is expected to look like. It weighs at 0.5kg, which is probably large enough for 4-5 people to share.

But when I bit into the chocolate sponge cake, I was absolutely taken by surprise! There was nothing ordinary about its taste. Layered with chocolate mousse and topped with dark sweet cherries and chocolate flakes, the cake really looked like any other black forest cake (except with the chocolate fans!), yet it tasted spectacular. The chocolate was properly rich and there wasn’t any hint of artificiality in any way. Given that the cake itself was light and spongy, I didn’t think that the chocolate would be this rich-tasting and delicious!

The mousse and white whipped cream were not overly sweet (which is great for those who try to avoid rich whipped cream) and it’s such a complementary delight when matched with the chocolate sponge cake. The chocolate fans? Gorgeous aesthetically and tasted like genuine chocolate too. No surprise here, I enjoyed every last bite of the cake with my family! I highly recommend this black forest cake.

This is perfect for anyone – for someone’s sweet sixteen or a chocolate lover – quite a sensational set that will bound to make the birthday boy or girl glow with chocolate happiness as I did. Try to order a few days in advance so you can make sure everything’s in stock and ready for your special someone.

Apart from the six roses hand bouquet that I was given, you have the option to pair the black forest cake with a hand bouquet of three velvety red roses, Moet Chandon Champagne-750ml, three balloons, or a box of Delfi assorted chocolates.
