Brotzeit celebrates Oktoberfest with pork-abundant Bavarian & German food till 25 October!

Oktoberfest 2020 may be cancelled in its home country, but at Brotzeit Singapore, the party lives on! From now to 25 October, enjoy the best of German cuisine and beers from new Group Executive Chef Lorenz Raich’s specially curated Oktoberfest menu.

For starters, the Kalter Schweinsbraten or Cold Roast Pork ($16++) is a dish of humble, familial origins, inspired by the lip smacking delicious meals and snacks made with leftovers from Sunday’s roasts. Brotzeit’s rendition is a refreshing medley that blends pork collar marinated overnight in a secret 12-spice mix with root vegetables, dollops of mustard, crispy pork skin, and house-picked daikon cubes.

For some palatable snacks to pair with your pint, go for the Crispy Pork Skin ($6++) and Knusprige Schweinsohren or Crispy Fried Pig Ears ($12++). The pork skin is dangerously addictive with its in-house secret snack spice mix, which is sprinkled ever so subtly on the airy skin. And the fried pig ears are well seasoned, with plenty of crunch in each bite.

Another perfect to share side is the Dreierlei Eingemachtes or Preserved and Smoked Spreads ($22++). Housemade savoury spreads of smoked trout, duck confit, and chicken truffle are paired with a healthy serving of lettuce leaves and crispy mini pretzels.

The iconic Risenbrezen or Giant Pretzel makes its appearance with not one, but two flavours! Chomp down on a Giant Pretzel filled with tender Pork Knuckle ($23++) or succulent Farmer Sausage ($28++). The generously meaty Farmer Sausage is practically bursting with flavour, with the tangy marinated red cabbages, pickles, and hot mustard distributed evenly across the bread. I also like how the pretzel itself isn’t too heavy that it takes away from the components between them slabs.

No German feast is complete without roasted meats. A jaw-dropping feast for two or three awaits with the Knusprige Schweinsschulter or Crispy Roasted Pork Shoulder ($45++). The fork-tender pork shoulder yields easily to the knife, and the pork skin completes every mouthful with its crispiness. A mix of autumn vegetables and dense potato dumplings round up this feast.

The Gebackne Apfelradln or Battered Fried Apple Wheels ($11++) provides a fresh and sweet finish to this Oktoberfest feast. A mildly spiced coating of light beer batter dusted with sugar and cinnamon gives way to a whole apple ring, whose warm flavours are complimented perfectly by housemate vanilla cookie crumbles and vanilla ice cream.
