Si Chuan Ming Xiao Chi 四川名小吃 – Best Chilli Oil Dumplings in Woodlands

Ever since I found out about Si Chuan Ming Xiao Chi 四川名小吃 last year, I have been gracing their humble outlet at Woodlands Blk 892C. Located a few bus stop away from my house or one bus stop away from Woodlands MRT station, it’s relatively convenient if you are staying in the neighbourhood.

I believe their dumplings are handmade as I always notice trays of the dumplings being prepared right in the stall.

I love dumplings and Si Chuan Ming Xiao Chi offers a good variety – Shanghai Xiao Long Bao, Chive Dumplings, Fried Dumplings, Dumplings in Soup Noodle and Wonton. Of all the red oil chilli dumplings I have tried in the vicinity, Si Chuan Ming Xiao Chi has one of the best quality. For $4.50, you get ten pieces of meaty juicy dumplings in chilli oil and some vegetables. I like that the skin is soft and the meat is quite tender. The sauce, especially, is tasty but moderately spicy. I usually help myself to more spicier chilli oil that’s available at the counter.

I have also tried their soup dumplings (very decent too) and Mixed Sauce Noodles which came in a hefty portion.

Si Chuan Ming Xiao Chi used to be on Grabfood and I would sometimes order from there. Fortunately, they have recently come on board Foodpanda which I have been an avid user of! Now I don’t have to travel down to get my favourite dumplings!
