Cafe Colombo, KL – Sri Lankan Thali Set, Crab Rasam, and Pulled Crab Tacos

Throwback to savouring delicious Sri Lankan dishes at Cafe Colombo in KL last year.

Cafe Colombo has two outlets – The Exchange TRX, and IOI City Mall.

I visited the one at The Exchange TRX. The menu has changed a little but the signatures remain. There is a variety of dishes to choose from, from sharing platters for big groups, to light bites for a taste of everything.

Menu (2025)

The Thali Set is a must-order, featuring a vibrant spread of curries, sides, and papadum to go with your choice of rice. I had the Fish Masala as one of the main selections. The gravy was flavour-packed with tender pieces of fish.

Some highlights from the round dishes include the tangy Tomato Rasam, mixed Salad, and Tofu Sodhi.

The portion is hearty and generous.

I couldn’t resist having the Tacos with Pulled Crab RM30. Each shell is stuffed with spicy shredded crab. Every bite of it is irresistibly tasty.

Another equally scrumptious dish is the Crab Rasam RM34. The broth delivers a punch – tangy and full of depth. It also comes with flower crab and some toasted breadsticks for mopping up the remaining of the broth.
