Chef In Box: First Vending Machine Cafe In Sengkang With Delivery Services

Imagine a cafe that runs 24-7 right at your void deck that can feed your hungry tummy in the middle of the night.

Chef in Box Vendcafé will fulfil that for you. The catch is that, it is not exactly a cafe but a series of six vending machines dispensing cooked dishes, beverages and light snacks. At any time of the day, just a click of the button and you are ready for a hot meal.

Started as a JR Group Initiative in 2001, Chef in Box aims to improve individuals’ conveniency in accessing quality food. The meals are specially curated by a team of chefs and caters to a large target group such as Malays, Indians and Chinese. Packaged in boxes, they are heated and serve straight, all within minutes. It’s really fast as I heated up the bento meals too.

Besides being fuss-free, the food are also Halal-certified and contain no added preservatives, additives or artificial colouring. Instead, the food retained their nutrients through advanced cook-chill and cook-freeze technology.

There is also delivery services provided where you can order meals individually or as a bundle.

Some of the meals include Seafood Hor Fan (SGD 4), Mac & Cheese (SGD 4) and Claypot Chicken Rice (SGD 4) to name a few.
