Chew Jetty Big Bowl Noodles, Giant Portions in Georgetown, Penang
It’s either you come hungry or come in size. Chew Jetty Big Bowl Noodles is no mean feat. As its name suggests, expect to be served in bowls bigger than your head and to dig into a bountiful load of ingredients.
You can find this restaurant along the clan jetties of Penang. It’s a narrow walk all the way in towards the Jetty boarding area. Nonetheless, the front of the store is easily locatable with ginormous bowls stacked on pushcarts.
There are different kinds of broth to go with the noodles. The menu comprises of the Special Spicy Seafood Noodles, Creamy Spicy Soup Noodles, Vegetarian Noodles, Braised Pork Noodles and Special Spicy Ba Gua Udon.
While the portion caters to one pax (small bowl) at RM19.90, it can go up to five pax at RM79.90 with five types of spicy level too! And of course, you get served in the hugest bowl ever seen with an equally comparable amount of ingredients.
At RM19.90, it’s pretty reasonable for the size. The firm curly noodles are almost buried by the myriad of ingredients such as half-shelled scallops, prawns, black fungus, baby corns, squids, carrots and vegetables. I lost count of the number of black fungiI have eaten. The entire bowl is simply too generously filled; I could only finish half!
The soup was tasty and you could add more seasonings (available on the table) to up the spice or flavour.
