Sprout Farmers’ Market 2019 – F&B, Farming & Lifestyle Brands spotted in Suntec

Sprout, Singapore’s largest farmer’s market returned for its second year last weekend on 11 and 12 May 2019, with over 90 brands at Suntec City. Here are some brands that stood out to us!

Happy Earth Farm

Started from a family farm in rural Thailand, Happy Earth Farm advocates beauty and self-care products that are 100% natural, and have no chemicals and preservatives.

Their No-Poo Head to Toe Wash is made with kaffir lime, som sah, and bai mee, a combination that gives off a pleasant, citrus-y scent when the bottle is opened. They even sell a Soap-Free Anti-Tick/Lice Conditioning Shampoo for pets!

Plentyfull

Situated in Millenia Walk, Plentyfull is a wholesome restaurant that draws inspiration from its team’s travel and heritage. From breakfast to dinner, dishes are made using seasonal ingredients, to give diners the best flavours. Look out for their granola and cookies!

Comcrop Rooftop Farming

Comcrop combines social good and fresh produce in its rooftop farming concept. Its first farm is located on the rooftop of *SCAPE, and supplies vegetables to the likes of Shangri-La and Raffles Hotel. This includes basil and peppermint, which are grown in vertical racks.

The company also provides vertical farming kits to schools to start their own miniature rooftop farms.

Don8uri

The tagline “curated by deaf advocates” says it all.

Don8uri is a F&B social enterprise that specialises in gourmet Japanese rice bowls, and “envisions a truly inclusive Singapore where Singapore Sign Language is officially [her] 5th language.”

Bamboo Straw Girl

Founded in 2014, Bamboo Straw Girl touts herself as having replaced more than 2 million plastic straws. If you missed her and her sustainable products at Sprout, fret not! You can purchase them from anywhere in the world with flat rate shipping.

Shermay’s Fine Food

Shermay’s Fine Food Singapore is a homegrown brand of local sauces and crackers made with F&B consultant Shermay Lee’s family recipes. From Small Prawn and Bitternut Crackers to Cilicuka Sauce and Sambal Hijau, shop from her online store to enjoy your favourite snacks and condiments.

Pétale

A French-inspired brand hailing from Singapore, Pétale creates artisan blooming teas that are hand sewn into exquisite tea balls. Choose from Organic Blooming Tea and Morning After Tea and brew away!

Uncle Saba’s Poppadoms

Good news for those who want to chow down on their favourite papadum while staying within their calorie intake quota: Uncle Saba’s Poppadoms is here to satisfy all cravings! Available in four flavours (original, sweet chilli, BBQ, and tomato), these bite-sized snacks are available in supermarkets across Singapore and Malaysia.

Remedy

Remedy is here to serve Singaporeans switching to healthy alternatives when it comes to their food and drink. Hailing from Australia, the drink brand offers a variety of flavours for their bottled Kombucha, Switchel, and Coconut Water to suit individual preferences. Pro tip: go for the Ginger Berry Kombucha, which is fizzy, yet not overly sweet!

Sustenir Agriculture

Sustenir Agriculture provides locally grown, 100% clean produce farmed with modern hydroponics methods, among other modern technologies. Grown in the heart of the city, Sustenir’s produce is farmed sustainably, with 90% consistency in quality. Among their offerings are kale, arugula, strawberries, basil, and tea.
