Chilli Manis Peranakan Christmas Catering with Giant Nasi Ambeng Platter & Holiday Roasts

Known for its Peranakan cuisine, Chilli Manis is back this season with ‘An Enchanted Heritage Christmas’, showcasing a series of Peranakan dishes with a modern twist, all of which are curated by Executive Chef Mdm Serene Hoh.

Highlights include the Pineapple Sambal Chicken, Spicy Pumpkin Prawns, Buah Keluak Roasted Chicken, Cheese Baked Scallops on Shell with Laksa Paste and Signature Homemade Salmon Otah.

Perfect for mini gatherings, the Nasi Ambeng Holiday Sharing Set $309 comprises of the signature Nasi Ambeng Holiday Platter x 2, your choice of one main (Spicy Pumpkin Prawn, Buah Keluak Roasted Chicken and Honey Baked Chicken Ham), fragrant truffle mash, Salad (with Grapes, Tomatoes and Cream Cheese), Petite Chocolate Ganache Fudge Yule Log and a refreshing Green Tea Jelly with Fruit Cocktail.

The Nasi Ambeng looks very appetising and festive with its vibrant colours and arrangement. Surrounding the blue pea rice are rendang chicken, udang goreng assam, Indonesian style French bean in olive oil and sambal eggs. The rendang chicken is very enjoyable with its rich, creamy gravy and tender chicken pieces, as well as the sambal sauce on the eggs which has a nice sweet and spicy flavour.

For desserts, the Petite Chocolate Ganache Fudge Yule Log is a moist sponge cake coated in smooth dark chocolate layer. The decorations might look simple, but taste-wise it was decent.
