Chojiro – Below $10 Conveyor Belt Sushi at Gochi Church Street Japan Kitchen
Chojiro is the Japanese chain’s first foreign outpost that offers quality and affordable sushi to the masses. Conveyor belt sushi establishments are known more for its affordability and not so much for its quality but Chojiro bridges that gap with the seafood flown in daily and dedicated sushi chefs slicing and making the sushi.
Located within Gochi Church Street Japan Kitchen, during its opening period, six chefs from Japan would oversee the operations and eventually two would be based in Singapore permanently!
Starting from $1.99++ for a plate of tuna mayonnaise Gunkan, plates of yummy tuna or mackerel sushi starts from $2.99++.
Besides just conveyor belt sushi, Chojiro also does maki rolls (from $7.49++ onwards), sashimi plates and platters ($9.99++ onwards) and grilled seafood such as the grilled Amberjack (from $9.99++ onwards).
The extensive menu also includes the Chojiro Hot Pot (Udon and seafood) and tempura.
A seat along the conveyor belt gives one a bird’s eye view of the chefs at work which is as educational as it is artistic; watching the chefs slice up an entire fish with deft knife skills underscores the effort put into every one of those plates of sushi to ensure a quality dish is presented. For those sitting away from the conveyor belt, there are tablets available to order your food too.
