Gochi Street is a multi-concept Japanese cuisine space that has opened right in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District that caters to the varied palettes after Japanese food. The space has 6 Japanese food concepts catering to anything from breakfast to desserts; ice cream to highballs. Some of these establishments have been in Singapore, three of the concepts, namely Chojiro, Pronto and Unaemon, are here for the first time. The other three includes Morozoff, Paletas and Suage Express.

 

Chojiro

Have the best of both worlds here with affordably priced sushi on conveyor belts without compromising on quality. Prices start from $1.99++ for a plate of tuna mayonnaise Gunkan to $2.99++ for plates of yummy tuna or mackerel sushi, up to $9.99++ sashimi delights.

Unaemon

This is the restaurant’s first outpost outside of Japan and brings with it over 150 years of unagi specialty traditions. Tuck into the signature Unajyu (Small portion $32++, Medium portion $36++), tastefully seasoned with Taga’s century and a half’s secret sauce that comes with a douse of sake from Kumamoto. Experience the moist-tender unagi with a crisp exterior.

Craving for more unagi? Get the Kiwami Unajyu ($65++) which consist of two Unagi, one embedded inside the rice.

Pronto

Fret not, at Pronto, you get to savour Italian-Japanese casual cuisine with a breakfast, affordable lunch sets and dinner menu. As night falls, the casual diner serves delectable Jim Beam highballs in various flavors and Suntory Premium Malts beers for those seeking an after-work tipple.

Suage

Hokkaido’s Soul Food makes its debut in the CBD with Suage. Curry soups were created in Sapporo during the 1970s and were popularly made with Chicken, Pork or Vegetables.

Suage has varients ranging from chicken leg “Honetsuki” ($14.50) to Prawn and Avocado ($16.50) as well as their popular Pork Kakuni ($14.50). Suage at Gochi Street is a takeaway space and the Curry Soups are perfect for that quick lunch drop-in or when one works overtime.

 

Morozof

Morozof, the luxe Japanese confectionary from Kobe which features Japanese cheesecakes, cookies and chocolates is part of the takeaway trio at Gochi Street.

Besides Japanese cookies and chocolates, the Morozoff cheesecake is specially made for Singapore and flown in from Japan to ensure quality and freshness; Singapore is the only country where Morozoff’s cheesecake is sold outside of Japan.

 

Paletas

Paletas, the frozen fruit bar by Rohto Pharmaceutical, has an ice pop corner serving ice popsicles made with fresh fruits, gelato and yogurt. All priced between $6.50 – $8.00 depending on flavor, they have made a Singapore Sling ice popsicle ($7.00) exclusively for Singapore and Gochi Street.

The Singapore Sling, made with fresh fruit ingredients is easily a crowd favourite with its local affinity and refreshing taste.

All flavors are available at Gochi Street including the top five Japanese flavors of Strawberry Milk, Milky Mix, Paletas Mix, the Okinawan Mango sorbet and Blueberry Sorbet
