CHU Collagen – New Soup Base, Crispy Rice Puffs and Mochi Mochi Noodles

Homegrown brand, CHU Collagen, is the brainchild of husband-and-wife duo Peter Lau and Ethel Neo, daughter of our local famous director, Jack Neo.

Born out of the family’s love for steamboats, CHU Collagen was launched in April 2020. From a humble pack of Chicken Collagen Soup $14.50 to Prawn Mee Soup $11.50 and more, the business has been thriving since its first day of sale and the products can now be found on various platforms like Shopee, RedMart, Amazon Fresh, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra, Hao Eccellente and HAO Megamart.

From FairPrice Finest

With Chinese New Year around the corner, CHU Collagen is rolling out a series of new items just in time for your reunion steamboat.

They are the Crispy Rice Puffs (available in two flavours – Original $8 and Seaweed $8.50), Mochi Mochi Noodles $6.90 and Japanese Teapot Soup (Dobin Mushi) $10.50.

Other soup bases that are under the brand include Laksa Soup $11.50 and Mala Collagen Soup for a more spicy kick.

With these handy soup packs on the go, they can make cooking so much easier and fuss-free. We tried the Chicken Collagen Soup and the flavour is just nice, creamy and rich, yet easy to drink. It is also trans fat free, sugar free and has no added MSG, preservatives, additives or artificial flavourings. It definitely did not leave me thirsty after the meal!

We prepared several ingredients (i.e. vegetables, mushrooms, scallops, dumplings, carrots and corns) to go with the soup. And meanwhile, one can simply add in a portion of Mochi Mochi Noodles and elevate the dish with some sprinkles of crispy rice puffs too. These crunchy morsels are also ideal with your home-cooked paofan and noodle soup.

We did not add extra water and one pack seems good enough for a pot. The meal’s truly enjoyable and tasty, with the soup base’s a chef’s kiss.
