CNY Cantonese Buffet Promo at The Line, Shangri-La Hotel Singapore
As Chinese New Year draws closer, it is the time to indulge in festive treats that will only occur once a year on the buffet line. From 10 January to 28 February 2018, feast on a scrumptious cantonese buffet dinner presented by The Line at Shangri-la Hotel Singapore.
Known as the Canton Fair, diners can expect a range of delicacies such as the Abalone Fried Rice, Braised Lobster Pearl with Dark Cep Mushroom, Braised Fish Maw with Shredded Abalone, Double-Boiled Bird’s Nest with Black Chicken, Sea Cucumber and Conpoy, 12-hours Slow Cooked Brisket, Salty Lemon Steamed Seabass and more!
Don’t miss the Roasted Suckling Pig where the crispy thin skin would leave you craving for seconds.
Fans of Pork Trotters would love this – thick chewy fats accompanying tender meats in a rich and flavourful sauce.
I would recommend trying the Cantonese Fried Bee Hoon. I usually avoid carbs during buffet but this was really addictive as I could taste the wok-hei, making each mouthful of noodles very flavourful.
As part of the Canton Fair, there are also Roasted Pork Roulade, Roasted Pork, Sweet and Sour Fish, Prawn Paste Chicken and Stir Fried Beef and so on!
At The Line, the Seafood on Ice is a crowd-favourite. Featuring freshly shucked oysters, snow crab legs, mussels, scallops, whelks and clams, this is seafood paradise for many diners. The crab meats, especially, are juicy and sweet.
From the cooked section, diners can still get more servings of seafood such as the Clam Stew and Lobster with Tomatoes Salad.
Besides the festive dishes and seafood, The Line offers a variety of cuisine such as Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Mediterranean and Western.
Leave some tummy space for the wide selection of Japanese delights ranging from sushi, sashimi (Swordtail, Salmon, Octopus and Tuna) to soba noodles and cold tofu.
Sliced on the spot, the sashimi were very fresh and succulent.
The must-try was the Aburi Salmon Sushi Roll, often swiped clean from their tray by eager diners. That said, the melt-in-the-mouth texture of the aburi fish was a taste to remember.
Diners can get their fair share of Chinese food at the Line too.
The noodle counter was catering to three types of soup noodles that day – Signature Singapore Laksa, Prawn Noodle Soup and Chicken Noodle Soup. You can even choose your noodles and the chef will have it cooked right in front of you.
Can’t decide which Indian curries you want? Simply have a scoop of all the various curries to go along with your naan and/or prata.
At one end of the buffet line, you can find the usual mainstays of the buffet like the Salads, Cold Cuts, Rojak and a Cheese Platter too.
The Line is big on their desserts with a huge assortment of cakes, mousse, tarts, shooters and local kuehs spamming across two shelves.
It’s rare to find that many Ice Cream flavours and a DIY Froyo machine being offered in a buffet but The Line has brought it to us!
Free-flow coffee and tea is also available. Just order over the counter!
